Weiler Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH partners with Methods Machine Tools to sell and service selected products from the Weiler Precision Flatbed Lathes catalog. Two of these products, the E 50HD universal lathe and the larger V 110, are on display at Weiler North America South Building 339053.
The V 110 includes features not previously seen in the United States, including four guide rails that use anti-friction bearings to move the slide, tailstock and steady rest for precise positioning accuracy. Walter Nierschl, head of sales at Weiler, said the V 110 also includes new automation features for high-volume environments. “This configuration makes parts faster,” he said. “We used to move it by attaching a steady rest or tailstock to the tool caliper, moving it to the right position and clamping it. But now we can do it completely automatically in the software, saving time and setup time and making the model more suitable for production environments where there are more of the same parts on the car.”
While the E 50 has already been offered to customers in the US, Nirshl says it remains the ideal IMTS demo vehicle. “The Weiler E 50HD is a small to medium sized machine suitable for a variety of machine shop environments.”
Like other Weiler models, the E 50 uses cycle control technology – the machine runs interactive control programming, which allows you to save machining cycles and schedule them for fast execution from drawing to finished workpiece.
