Do you know the composition structure of heavy vertical lathe?

The heavy vertical lathe is a highly versatile machine used in various industries such as heavy machinery manufacturing, mining equipment manufacturing, iron and steel, chemical equipment manufacturing, electric power equipment manufacturing, railroad rolling stock manufacturing, and metallurgical machinery manufacturing. The heavy vertical lathe consists of left and right columns, a top beam, and a table base to handle the load during cutting operations.

 

The heavy vertical lathe crossbeam moves vertically along the column guide, and the crossbeam lifting motor and worm gearbox are positioned on the top beam. The crossbeam is secured to the column using a disc spring and lever mechanism. The control buttons for lifting the crossbeam are conveniently located on the suspension button station.

 

At the rear of the table base, the gearbox is securely attached. The main motor is connected to the gearbox through a flexible coupling. The gearbox, driven by a variable speed cylinder, offers sixteen different speeds. The speed change switch is conveniently positioned on the suspension button station. The main motor directly starts and brakes the table through the gearbox. The table rotates only in the positive working direction but can be moved forward and backward to facilitate precise positioning.

 

To enhance durability, the table is equipped with wear-resistant guide plates made of zinc-aluminum-copper alloy. Pressure oil (2-4kg/cm2) is circulated between the guides to improve their load-bearing capacity. The spindle of the table is supported by two 3182100 double-row short cylindrical roller bearings. The inner ring of these bearings has a tapered hole, allowing adjustment of the radial clearance. This ensures smooth and precise operation of the spindle even under demanding conditions. The buttons for starting, braking, and positioning the table are located on the suspension button station for easy access and control.

 

On both the left and right sides of the large vertical lathe, there are feed boxes positioned at the ends of the crossbeam. The structure of these feed boxes is identical. Each feed box contains a motor for tool holder feed and another motor for rapid traverse. The manipulation handle for adjusting the feed amount is situated in front of the feed box. An electromagnetic clutch within the feed box offers the option to select the direction of tool carrier feed or rapid traverse. The suspension button station features the tool holder moving direction selection switch and buttons for feed and rapid traverse manipulation.
